Event Details

Learning objectives:

  • Participants will learn to apply an infant mental health approach to early intervention work with parents with cognitive/
    emotional difficulties.
  • Participants will understand issues that affect forming partnerships in early intervention work and will learn strategies to
    enhance relationships with parents with cognitive difficulties.
  • Participants will learn practical strategies to enhance parent-child relationships.


About the Presenters:

  • Sherri Hansen, Ph.D.: licensed psychologist and Clinical Director/ supervisor at Through The Looking Glass (TLG). She has developed the current National Resources Center for Parents with Disabilities’ training materials and conducts trainings for professionals across the country on best practice.
  • Christi Tuleja, M.S., ORT: occupational therapist who is a pediatric and parenting with a disability specialist at TLG. She has extensive relationship-based intervention training and experience and integrates this approach into the developmental intervention at TLG.

The Infant Development Association of California is a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider #CEP-12786, for 5.5 contact
hours. The Infant Development Association of California is a provider approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, provider #PCE-1516. The
course meets the qualifications for 5.5 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Applicable fees will be charged on-site for the CEU registrations in addition to registration fees. CEU Refund Policy: Refund requests received in writing within
30 days of course. Less a $5.00 processing fee.
