Learning objectives:
- Participants will learn to apply an infant mental health
approach to early intervention work with parents with cognitive/
emotional difficulties.
- Participants will understand issues that affect forming
partnerships in early intervention work and will learn strategies to
enhance relationships with parents with cognitive difficulties.
- Participants will learn practical strategies to enhance
parent-child relationships.
About the Presenters:
- Sherri Hansen, Ph.D.: licensed psychologist and Clinical
Director/ supervisor at Through The Looking Glass (TLG). She has developed the current National Resources Center for Parents
with Disabilities’ training materials and conducts trainings for professionals across the country on best practice.
- Christi Tuleja, M.S., ORT: occupational therapist who is
a pediatric and parenting with a disability specialist at TLG. She has extensive relationship-based intervention training
and experience and integrates this approach into the developmental intervention at TLG.
